I dabble in 3D apps, mostly Cinema 4D, and I find C4D very kinky in terms of its interface and some procedures. That is to say, it's probably not all that easy for a noob.
On the other hand, if you're patient enough to read the manual/do tutorials from the ground up, I see no reason you couldn't learn it. I don't do either of those for the most part, I mostly just click stuff until something happens.
I think I'll have to get my hans on a copy of C4D no matter the cost and dive into it. I have seen so many works produced with that app that I really admire and love. Read manuals is not my favorite, and back in days the way to learn was like you say just to click stuff until something happens - my kind of way so to speak. I guess my way will be the tutorial/click-stuff-way.
